Who We Are

About the Forum

Our History

Fifteen Years of Bridging Two Professions

The Defence Journalist Association of Bangladesh (DJAB) was founded in 2010 by a group of senior correspondents covering the foreign affairs beat in Dhaka. At a time when international reporting relied on fragmented access and informal channels, the founders envisioned a professional body that could engage the diplomatic community on equal, institutional footing.

From its first ambassadors' briefing in 2011 to the launch of the Annual Diplomatic Press Gala, the Forum has grown into the recognized counterpart of foreign missions, international organizations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — representing more than 250 accredited journalists today.

Throughout this journey, one principle has remained constant: the public's right to accurate, ethical, and independent reporting on Bangladesh's place in the world.
